History
The Manotick Horticultural Society was established in 1930 and is one of 19 societies that make up District 2 of the Ontario Horticultural Society.
About Us
We are a membership of over one hundred and ninety amateur gardeners. We share a passion for gardening, preservation of the environment, beautifying our community, and educating others in all areas of horticulture. Our programs and activities instill a great fellowship between members, who all share the same passion.
Mission
“The Society invests in the community through its horticultural programming, with the goal of building a strong social network which provides the membership and the public with opportunities to learn and actively engage in horticultural education, activities and fellowship.”
Our Society Icon
Our symbol is the Stella d’Oro Daylily – gold self, petals curl back slightly, classic miniature long-blooming daylily. Blooms June – September. Grown in full sun or partial shade in humus rich soil.
Organization
Manotick Horticultural Society is constituted as a “not for profit” organization and comes under the auspice of the Ontario Horticultural Association (created by the Province of Ontario in 1906). We are not a registered charity.
