Welcome to our 2022 season. It is Canada’s Year of the Garden. It’s still cold out but our guest speaker, Manja Bastian, is sure to cheer us up with her great presentation. Tulips are the harbingers of Spring with their dynamic colours and majesty. But why wait? Get cheerful tulips in the cold of winter by forcing bulbs. Manja will show us how.
This MHS event is an open house event. We would love to show everyone what we do, what we have planned for 2022, and how to become a member of the society. A great opportunity to help grow our membership.
Manja Bastian is a retired accountant. After working and traveling overseas, this former city slicker retired to the country and realized she needed to add some excitement back into her life. In the Fall of 2019, with a nod to her Dutch heritage, she started Green Corners U-Pick Tulip Farm with her husband. They just finished planting 350,000 tulip bulbs on their 13 acres in Edwards, Ontario. They are eagerly looking forward to sharing the beauty of these spring blooms with their new community of friends.
